It’s not news by now that Windows XP end of support is on April 8th, 2014, after this date Microsoft will drop any kind of support for the more than a decade old operating system. And even though the company has stated many time about the end-of-support, Microsoft will try one last time to alert Windows XP Home and Professional users.
If you’re still running Windows XP, this is the best time to move on, as Microsoft is also offering a free migration tool called PCmover Express, a software from Laplink that will help you to move files and settings from Windows XP to any Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 PC. The software will be available for download at no extra cost from WindowsXP.com later this week.
Furthermore, for those customers who are not sure which operating system they are running, Microsoft has created a web page that can automatically tell you if you’re running Windows XP with a countdown clock reminding users how much time is left for the 13-year old operating system.
