Microsoft plans to reveal the next generation of its desktop operating system (likely to be called Windows 11) on June 24 during a special event . While it is unclear what the new version will offer, the company has released many previews related to the project. In this hands-on video, we will get a closer look at some of the new features and visual changes expected to arrive this fall with Windows 11 , codenamed Sun Valley.
This video is not meant to be a full review of the upcoming Sun Valley update for Windows. Instead, it is a recap of the new improvements that Microsoft has made known through the Insider builds in the Dev Channel . Some of which include new iconography for File Explorer, Settings, and other parts of the system. An updated version of the Start menu with better organization for tools and a new power option.
We looked at the new Voice Typing and Touch Keyboard experiences with rounded corners and improved design. The video also highlights the new setting to enable or disable the adaptive brightness control (CABC) feature , the “Cameras” settings page to manage webcams and network cameras, the new Auto HDR for gaming feature to convert SDR games into HDR automatically.
Furthermore, Microsoft has been working on other Settings improvements. For example, on Windows 11 , you will also get new management tools to create, delete, and format drives, and Storage Spaces is now part of the Settings experience.
